Introduction/Overview

This project covers a range of UX research methods that I used to present suggestions to improve and enhance Facebook’s website. The project went through four phases: Define Objective & Goals, Plan the Research, Conduct the Research, and Analyze & Share.

Heuristic Evaluation

Created goals using Nielson’s 10 heuristics for user interface design evaluation. After, I used the Forrester scorecard to grade the site on it’s usability and design.

Interview/Coding

Empathy Map

Used the Says, Thinks, Does, Feels method to further understand the persona.

Facebook UX Research Case Study

Usability Testing

Created usability scripts to conduct interviews tailored to the goals. The script included an introduction, pre-test questions, initial impressions, scenarios, and post-test questions.

Discovered findings and suggested recommendations to enhance the website.

Wrote interview questions with specific topic research objectives in mind. Then conducted the interview. Afterwards, I coded the answers in specific groupings to organize.

Personas

Created a persona to deepen the understanding user’s goals, needs, experiences, behaviors regarding social networking

Journey Map

Explored the process of engaging in an online community and identifying the emotions, pain points, and opportunities at each state. The journey map highlights how to enhance and improve user engagement and satisfaction.
